Online+ Growth Strategies Train-the-Trainer Workshop (Wolfville)

Workshop Overview

This 2-day workshop will teach business development professionals how to coach their clients through a modular, online “Growth Strategies” course, which is designed to help their clients achieve their goals for business growth. The online course is formulated around a checklist of best practices used by successful growth organizations and is structured as follows:

Part 1: Preparing for Growth

How to:

  1. Define your  Vision
  2. Identify and Prioritize Target Markets
  3. Define your Unique Selling Proposition
  4. Create a Winning Sales Cycle
  5. Achieve Customer Loyalty

Part 2: Creating the right Growth Strategy for your Business

How to:

  1. Find Growth Opportunities
  2. Evaluate Opportunities for Growth
  3. Launch New Products and Services
  4. Overcome Barriers to Success

 

By the end of this two-day workshop, participants will have learned both the online “Growth Strategies” course material, as well as how to coach their clients through the online course.

 

Trainers: Tim Alison and Andy Horsnell

Tim Alison is an experienced small business coach, entrepreneur, and public speaker. He is best known as the founder and president of Maritrain Limited (1988-2006), a Meteghan based e-learning company that generated more than $10,000,000 in sales.  Tim is a frequent public speaker and welcomes the opportunity to share his experiences while challenging audiences to re-evaluate how they define success. He has a special appreciation for fellow entrepreneurs and for individuals and organizations that promote entrepreneurship and community economic development. 

As a founding staff member of ACSBE (1989 to 1998), Andy Horsnell played a lead role in the development and delivery of many of the Centre’s programs and resources, including its Entrepreneurial Decision Making Cycle. Between 1998 and 2010, Andy worked as an entrepreneurship trainer and consultant to social enterprises throughout Canada and the USA, and is pleased to bring that experience to his new role at ACSBE as Manager of Professional Development.  He earned a business degree and adult education certificate from Acadia University, a certificate in competency-based learning from Holland College, and has worked extensively in Action Learning and enterprise learning. 

 

Pricing:  

There is no registration fee for this workshop.  Participants are responsible for their own travel costs and for securing one business client, with whom they will test the online “Growth Strategies” course in the weeks following the workshop.  There will be no cost to the business client for accessing the online “Growth Strategies” course.
