A lifetime of benefit for children, youth, & families

What would it take to make children and youth in Digby, Yarmouth and Shelburne Counties healthy, safe, nurtured, and responsible - and given the right opportunities to be the best they can be? That is the question we need YOUR help answering.
The Tri-County Child and Youth Action Committee is inviting YOU to an interactive focus group that will help us create positive change. During this event, a community facilitator will gather your opinions and ideas about how we can make your community a better place for children, youth, and families. There is no right or wrong answer, and you will not be put on the spot - this is simply a chance to voice your opinion on the important issues children and youth face in your County.
Please join us by accepting this invitation. With your help, we can make a difference. If you have any questions about this event, please email Joel Stoddart at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or call toll free 1-866-654-4499.
What should I expect in this community consultation/focus group?
You should expect a friendly and open atmosphere where you are free to share your opinions without hesitation. Although you will not be put on the spot in front of the group, your facilitator will encourage you to speak up and make it easy for you to do so. You should also expect to participate in small group brainstorming exercises and discussions (not in front of the larger group). Although we welcome your ideas and thoughts, we do not wish for this to be simply a venting session, however. We would like to keep the session focused on new ideas and solutions.
Who is facilitating this focus group?
To ensure this consultation is objective, the Tri-County CAYAC has contracted the Acadia Centre for Social and Business Entrepreneurship (www.acsbe.com) to facilitate these consultations.
Do I need to bring anything?
No, you need only come with an open mind and a willingness to share your ideas about the challenges, opportunities, and issues facing our children, youth, and families.
How many people will be attending?
We expect anywhere between 20 and 100 people will be attending this session. Please spread the word. The more the merrier.
