Step 1: Decide if your business qualifies for the program
GetConnected, as part of the Shelburne County eSmart initiative is specifically designed for small rural businesses in Shelburne County, Nova Scotia, that have the potential for growth into new markets. If you are interested in participating and can answer YES to all of the following questions then complete and submit the “Program Application” form:
- Is your business registered in Nova Scotia?
- Are the majority of your business activities conducted outside urban markets?
- Is your business small to medium in size?
- Are you willing to appoint a champion from the business to participate over the course of the four-month program?
- Are you interested in growing into new markets (either local, regional, national or international)?
- Do you have an interest in growing your capacity to use the Internet to do business?
- Do you have a basic working knowledge of email, the Internet, and possibly a business website?
We will be having an information session about the program ( several short presentations followed by Q&A ) on Thursday, October 13th, at 11:15 am., 12:15 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. at the Shelburne CBDC Conference Center. Please join us for one of the information sessions.
Step 2: Complete and submit the online application
Complete the online application form here. DEADLINE for applications is October 20th, 2011.
Step 3: Contact from an ACSBE business counsellor
An ACSBE business counsellor will contact you to provide more information. The counsellor will also do an initial business assessment before accepting your business into the program.
