Government of Canada invests in Succession Planning for Rural Small Businesses
The Acadia Centre for Social and Business Entrepreneurship and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) have teamed up to deliver Succession Planning workshops aimed at helping rural small businesses understand and begin to develop succession plans.
The Beyond Your Business: Step-by-Step Succession Planning Program has been developed to provide small business owners in eleven Atlantic Canadian communities (4- Nova Scotia, 4-New Brunswick, 2-Newfoundland, 1-Prince Edward Island) with information, tools and resources for the succession of their business.
Acadia student team named Champion for environmental education
Toronto, ON (Tuesday, March 2, 2010) – Acadia University’s “Students In Free Enterprise” or SIFE team has been named the SIFE Green Challenge Regional Champion by national charitable organization Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship (ACE).
All Atlantic based SIFE teams were judged by live panels of business professionals and regional champions were announced on Friday February 26th in Halifax at the 2010 ACE Atlantic Regional Exposition, proudly supported by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA).

Program puts experience to work
Older Workers receive employment support
An employment and self-employment program focused on the needs of Older Workers is about to launch for the third time in Lunenburg County. The Acadia Centre for Social and Business Entrepreneurship (ACSBE) will offer Putting Experience to Work - a twenty-week program for unemployed people aged 55 – 64 who are interested in discovering their age advantage and entering or re-entering the workforce.
