ACSBE believes that entrepreneurship is about a mindset – an approach to life. Entrepreneurial skills are a means for students and youth to get involved in their community and make their classroom learning applicable in society.  Our entrepreneurial education program is based first upon engaging students/youth, educators and administrators so they understand the relevance of the development of enterprise skills can have to any educational program. 

Whether you are interested in focusing your ‘e’ skills towards business, creating change in your community, or innovating new products and processes, ACSBE can help.

All of ACSBE’s programming centres around the idea that entrepreneurial characteristics and skills can help you achieve your goals – whether you are an individual, organization or community. It is also based on the belief that good decision-making - decisions that result in happy, healthy and productive individuals, organizations and communities - starts with a clear understanding of what you want out of your life or want to achieve as a community.

Several programs exist to assist individuals, organizations and communities develop a vision for what they want to achieve and translate that vision into a reality – whether that be employment opportunities, self-employment opportunities, the mission of a not-for-profit organization or envisioning the future of various communities – geographic communities as well as those communities who come together because of common purpose, interest or challenge.

Our region’s non-profit and social enterprises are among the most entrepreneurial and forward-thinking in Nova Scotia. They solve important societal problems and contribute to the community’s quality of life.

A large part of what makes them so successful is their willingness to seek guidance and support when necessary. And ACSBE is happy to provide this. ACSBE provides a wide range of non-profit consulting services in the following areas: strategic planning, board development and governance, business planning, marketing, financial management, succession planning, stakeholder/community consultations, and more.

ACSBE has worked with the following types of non-profit organizations: Social service, environmental, industry associations, sports and recreation, Co-operatives, arts and culture, advocacy, religious, and others.
